In the Pocket with Charlie Batch was a new idea for a fundraiser. Charlie Batch, through his Best of the Batch Foundation, involved the Pittsburgh Steelers. They had all agreed to attend and play pool, ping pong or poker with the event attendees to raise funds for the foundation.

I was called in to create the logo for the event, the event program, invitations, save the date, the tickets and everything to do with the event.

The event was at Navarra in downtown Pittsburgh, PA, where I had been doing graphics for all of their needs, including fundraisers, their website and all of their marketing materials.

I chose to play ping pong with Jeff Reed, kicker of the Steelers at the time, and managed to snag a photo of him after the game. (that is Franko Harris walking right behind me. In addition to that, the lady in the front left, hired me many years later to do a website in memory of her daughter. Years later I saw this and wondered if it was her, it is. Small world of coincidences, serendipity, … something.)
