The Mountain Laurel Chamber of Commerce, located in Donegal, PA, has branded the strip of road from Exit 91 of the Pennsylvania turnpike to Rte. 711 “The Gateway to the Laurel Highlands.” The chamber called for designs for the new sign going up in the community. I was happily able to provide this service. In fact, the project became very personal, as I’m a huge hiker, and the Laurel Highlands is an area filled with trails and state parks, so I am very familiar with some great lookout spots. I hiked to the spot you see on the sign with a photographer friend, in search of a nice shot for this sign. I wanted something that really shows you what the Laurel Highlands has to offer. I was also involved in finding a sign vendor for producing this work. The stones surrounding the sign were not part of my project, but it came together very well, and in the end, the chamber is very pleased with their sign.
