Ross Township had a site that was built in Joomla, and it was in major need of a complete makeover. In 2014, After committee meetings and presentations, I was hired to redevelop the website, keeping it in Joomla. The previous site had multiple issues, bad navigation and was just falling short of representing the community. It was not mobile friendly.

We chose a responsive theme and customized it completely. (The mistake I made was in not screen capturing the original site to show the “before” look. It was pretty bad.) The new completed site was 1000x better than what was there.

Update:  In April 2018 the township changed over the website completely, using a company that creates government sites and offers a complete robust monthly service. The site I did for them was well accepted and they were happy with it but wanted to completely outsource the upkeep and to have every bell and whistle available. I was told that the site I created was a great stepping stone to the next level, because I had to organize the jumbled up content that was there, and from that point it was much easier to convert over to the new service.

The screen shot above shows the home page live, just before they switched over. They maintained the site after I re-designed it so some things got changed over the years.

The screen shot below shows the layout I presented and then created.
